Im sorry but ive never heard of someone getting banned for no reason(theres a lot of hackers who claim to be innocent, but leets face it the global ban list is like prison, every on who is in it is either innocent or doesnt care and mans up about being guilty) if you were banned you did something.
I know it sucks but the only difference between ranked and open(which is the only thing you can play when youre banned) is you cant get acheivements and everyone has op characters thanks to steam workshop maps. Odds are they modded it which regardless if you modded it or not the games anti cheat monitors your inventory and if you have a items of which has stats that wouldnt legitimately spawn in game you will get banned. If someone sold you a weapon that just sounded too good to be true. Either you were using a 3rd party program like a trainer or cheat engine(doesnt have to be for this game if you were using it for another game and forgot to close it before you played dd you will still get banned) or you bought modded weapons.
